The carvings of the stone are in the runestone style Pr 1 (c. 1010-1040) pertaining to the Ringerike style.

 

The inscription is not signed.

 

The granite stone is c. 1,50 m tall, 1,00 m wide and 0,30 m thick.

 

 

Notes

 

DR 285 was discovered Dec 16, 2020 during excavations for a sewage line in Ystad municipality. The stone lying with its image facing up had been used in a bridge construction over the Hunnestad stream where it crosses Hunnestads Byväg.

 

The stone was originally part of the Hunnestad Monument raised by a prominent family of the Gussnava area near Ystad.
