Multiple Ribbon Animals in Early Animal Style

This design displays characteristic features of early animal style (c. 375–475 CE) in Scandinavia.

The first interlacing ribbon animals appear in this period, though they are still rare and compose very simple interlacing patterns like, for example, a couple of swirling ribbon bodies composing a line symmetric composition.
